The cast iron is sprayed with a soy-based vegetable oil and then baked on at a very high temperature. The heat allows the oil to penetrate into the iron, creating a black patina finish with superior appearance and performance than home seasoning. The same quality and cooking performance as our traditional bail handled Dutch ovens, except these are designed with loop handles that make it a little easier for taking in and out of the oven. Of course, when it ?boils? right down to it ? it?s simply a matter of preference. Clean with a stiff nylon brush and hot water - soap is not recommended.
